I am often asked the same question that how a computer is made? It can be very deceiving to the eyes of the average

person when they glance into an open computer. There are different “pieces” to be found and a lot of strings moving

from one part to another. The best advice I can give is that it sounds a lot more complicated than it is. Don’t be afraid

to do some trial and error to figure things out within reason. Of course, you have to be careful and don’t force

components in places they aren’t, but it’s hard to mix because most things can only go on one side, and will only fit in the right place. Everything I did today over the years learned most by trial and error. When something goes

wrong, there’s always a way to fix it, and sometimes it just takes a little patience and research to figure out how to fix

problem. I started making computers around 1996 when I was ten years old, and it became a hobby of mine,

starting a business about 16 months ago. There’s been a lot to learn and learn over the years, and the same is true of

To get things started you need to ask yourself what you want the computer to be. It can be a basic machine for simple

web browsings like Facebook and e-mail. Another requirement may be that of a media center only, a computer

connected to an entertainment center to watch films, music, recording, and Internet television as well as a television

full-time for any other use than joined. The machine can be mainly used for gaming. Gaming computers can be a

touchy subject because everyone has different ideas. Some may be happy just playing games on the lower setting,

and others want everything to be maximized with extra room for future game titles. The last use I’ll touch on will be

photo and video editing. Many times a high-end gaming computer and a photo/video editing machine will have

many similarities. You don’t necessarily have to have an extremely powerful system for videos and photos, but it will

certainly cut down on the time required. If one wants to make longer videos, it can take ages to complete them on a

less powerful computer. One thing I would say is that no matter what computer you are looking to build, budget the

funds available and go from there. There is no point in looking at very expensive premium components when there is

no budget for them. Many people would be surprised at how cheap a fairly powerful system can be “nowadays”. I

would never recommend buying the latest and greatest as it will cost a premium and will be replaced with something

better in about six months. That’s how the computer world works. Once the purpose of the computer and a budget

have been planned, there are a few key components that are needed to assemble a fully functional computer. These

main components include; Chassis that houses and protects all components, power supply (PSU) that supplies power

to the computer from the wall, Motherboard which is the central place for all components to communicate with each

other, see and interact with, The processor (CPU) which acts as the brain of the operation, calculates millions of

operations every second, Memory (RAM) that stores temporary information computed by the processor for faster

access, A hard drive, or hard disk, which is a permanent storage device that contains all of the user’s data and

programs, Removable storage such as CD/DVD/Blu-ray readers and burners, USB drives and other storage devices.

The first component we’ll start with is the motherboard. It’s a fairly central place where everything plugs in.

The motherboard is full of “highways” that pass data between all the components. There are several types of

motherboards available, usually AMD and Intel-based boards. An AMD base motherboard must match an AMD

processor and vice versa.  There are also different form factors or sizes available, which must be matched to the

proper case for a proper fit. There are usually Micro ATX, ATX, Extended ATX, and more recently Mini ITX which

are very small in size when space is extremely limited, such as in an entertainment center. Other sizes are also available but these.
